About Us
A personal experience became a place of purpose.
Bluebird Equine Therapeutic Ranch brings together professional therapy, experiences with horses and the quiet of nature. Set on 57½ acres, our ranch welcomes children ages 6 and older, veterans and others seeking support for their mental and emotional wellness.
Our Story
It started with a connection Teah wanted to share.
Our founder, Teah Pearson, has spent much of her adult life working with children and adults who have experienced trauma. With a master’s degree in psychology and 10 years of experience founding and operating her own community mental health center, she understands how personal the search for support can be.
But the idea for Bluebird came from an experience outside her everyday work.
During a visit to an equine ranch, Teah experienced how much time with horses and nature meant to her. It gave her a different kind of space to pause and reconnect. She wanted others to have the opportunity to experience that connection, too.
Teah saved toward her dream and purchased the land that became Bluebird Equine Therapeutic Ranch. Today, that personal commitment shapes our purpose: bringing people, animals and professional support together in a welcoming ranch setting.
Our Mission
Supporting people through care, connection and nature.
Our mission is to support mental and emotional wellness through professional therapy and meaningful experiences with horses and nature, with a special focus on children and disabled veterans.
We want people to feel welcomed, heard and comfortable asking for help. Each person arrives with their own experiences, questions and reasons for being here. Those differences matter to us.
A Ranch With Room to Breathe
There is something meaningful about stepping away from the demands of everyday life and spending time outdoors.
Our 57½ acres provide the setting for therapy, introductions to horses and activities that invite people to participate and connect. As clients advance, their experiences can include riding, grooming, feeding, gardening and other activities with the horses.
You do not have to arrive knowing what to expect. We begin with a conversation and an intake process so we can learn about your needs and explain the next steps.
Professional Care and Guided Horse Activities
Knowing who is supporting you matters.
At Bluebird, licensed clinicians provide therapy, while our horse trainer leads activities with the horses. These distinct roles bring professional care and horse handling experience to our work.
Our Clinical Director, Ed Green, MSSW, LCSW, brings more than 25 years of experience across behavioral health settings, including residential treatment, inpatient care, community mental health and private practice.
Ed’s approach recognizes each person’s strengths and the effects of trauma on their life. His commitment to compassion, clear standards and ethical care helps shape Bluebird’s clinical approach.

Our Partnership With Paws for Hope
Compassion for animals is part of our purpose.
Bluebird is partnering with Paws for Hope, a nonprofit founded by Rev. Cindy Cline to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome dogs.
Cindy has personally rescued and cared for more than 100 animals throughout her adult life. Her commitment to giving dogs safety and a second chance is at the heart of this partnership.
Together, we plan to house rescued dogs at the ranch and train suitable dogs as service animals for clients. Some dogs will also participate in therapeutic activities. Dogs who are not rehomed will remain at the ranch and continue to receive care.
This partnership brings together our care for people and our commitment to the animals who share this space.
Help Support the Ranch
There is more than one way to make a difference.
Donations help care for our animals and maintain the facility where our work takes place. You can also support Bluebird by volunteering your time or sponsoring an animal.
Whether you choose to give or get involved personally, we appreciate your interest in our mission.
